Steps for Dog/Puppy Training

Step 1: Behaviour Assessment:

My training plans begin with a behaviour assessment. This is done in-person and at your home. During the assessment, I observe how you and your pet interact and I review your pet's behaviour history and your training goals. I end by introducing management strategies that you can start immediately, discuss my observations and finally present a training plan. You will have a better understanding of your dog and feel confident moving forward with training. Price: $100 or $150 for multiple pets. 

Step 2: Enroll in a Training Plan: 

After completing your behaviour assessment, I will recommend one of my training plans for your pet. I have customised plans for puppies and dogs.

My overall goal with training is to always address the underlying stress and emotions that cause the unwanted behaviour (barking, lunging, growling, biting, uncontrollable behaviour, etc.). I reintroduce dogs to their stressors at a pace they can handle by creating positive associations to things that cause a dog distress or panic. 

Steps for Walks

Step 1: Meet & Greet Assessment (Free):

I come and see each new dog in their home. This helps create a connection with me and your dog, and in the place where I will first come to see them. It also allows for an assessment of their comfort levels with me.

The Meet & Greet Assessment is also an opportunity to discuss your dog's general behaviour around other dogs. As I offer walks in groups of 3-4, it's important to correctly assess your dog so they are able to have an enjoyable and rewarding experience from this social activity.

Step 2: First Walk:

On arrival, I reintroduce myself to your dog at a pace they can handle. I do this by creating positive associations through food rewards, play, etc. to reduce any distress or panic. 

I then go outside to introduce your dog to any other dogs present that day, again, only going at a pace they can handle. I approach all my walks in this fear-free, force-free way, so making every experience more rewarding and less stressful for your dog.
