A pet’s 'aggressive' behaviour is often misunderstood. Many dogs who appear 'aggressive' are actually scared.  They may have had poor socialisation experiences, traumatic experiences or have a genetic predisposition to fearfulness. I determine the motivation for your dog’s aggressive or reactive behaviour and create practical solutions for you and your family.  

In some ways dogs are easy to train. They are remarkable creatures at picking up some things and that’s one of the many reasons why I love them. However some training can also easily go sideways. You may have tried behaviour modification on your own and accidentally taught your dog something you didn’t intend. Maybe you even tried a shock or vibration collar. But sometimes what makes sense to us as humans doesn’t really work for a dog. I use effective fear-free and force-free training techniques that are easy for your dog to learn, even the most “stubborn” dog.  

Reaching your training goals can feel daunting and sometimes even hopeless. I understand that. I also know the satisfaction of seeing a dog’s behaviour change. It is an enormous pleasure to see a fearful dog become more confident, to watch a dog that used to growl at visitors begin to wriggle when meeting a new person. I walk you through each step of my individualised programs to give you the best reformation of your dog’s behaviour.

Behaviour Assessment

The training begins with a 60 minute behaviour assessment. At this initial session I review your pet's behaviour history, observe your pet's behaviour, and review your training goals. I end by discussing my evaluation of your dog's behaviour, and present you with a Training Plan to achieve your goals. You'll get immediate actions to take to improve your life with your pet. Pricing: $100 for single pet homes, $150 for multi-pet homes.

Tailored Training (Bespoke 5 Session Package)
After you have completed your dog's Behaviour Assessment, there follows a 5 session package, tailored to the specific needs of your situation. Each one is 60 minutes. During which, I will teach your dog the required skill/s. I will also teach you too, giving you the necessary training tools, so that you can achieve the same result with your pet.

Detailed handouts and 'homework' to further your learning will be provided, so that you can continue training and making progress with your dog during the periods between each session.

Reactive Rover (10 Session Walk & Train Program)
When your furry companion becomes a barking and lunging beast on leash, I know it can feel frustrating, embarrassing, or even frightening. Don't despair, I can help reform your dog's behaviour, and change your walks into calmer and more confident outings. (Note: This package is only suitable for certain levels of reactivity. This is assessed during the Behaviour Assessment.)

With my Reactive Rover program, after you have completed your dog's Behaviour Assessment, I come to your home and work directly with your dog on walks. Then I give you the training tools, to show you how to maintain what your dog has learned. The process is straightforward and you receive user-friendly handouts to follow for the periods between sessions.
